So I show up for the last "official" Tuesday 5k of 2019 expecting to be the only one due to conditions and then I'll just go home and watch the World Series.  It was 40 degress, rainy, windy, not even rowers were on the lake.  I purposely didn't create a Facebook "event" for the group today because I didn't want to draw people out in these conditions.  6:15 on the dot Jay Doty and Russ Maschek roll in.  I told them I wasn't planning on paddling.  They told me they were.  Ok, then I guess I'll paddle.  The frontstrech wasn't too bad, just rainy & cold.  On the backstretch waves were really stacking up so I tacked my canoe into the wind back across the lake for a DNF.  Russ and Jay powered through.  Nice work guys.  Thus concludes our "official" series of Tues 5k's for the year.  Thanks everyone for coming out and making it happen, see you in spring.  The water is quite cold now, so please use proper caution if you paddle over winter - drysuit, wetsuit, stay close to shore, go with someone, etc.

We're back at it!  Weather settled down just in time for the 5k and it turned out to be a heckuva good evening.  I think we had 7 total paddlers.  Unfavorable conditions for PRs, but Mark F. set his baseline PR.  See you next week!

I am going to stop posting updates to this thread since 99% of the communication happens via Facebook.  Feel free to join the Facebook group "Creve Coeur Lake Show Me Oars Day 5K" for updates.  We meet every Tues 6:30P mid-March through mid-Oct near the flagpole on the east side of the lake.
