Thanks for writing that up!

I was one of the ones chilling at Miami waiting out that barge, and was curious what happened with it. It must have stopped not long after you passed it, as it was parked on river right not far above Glascow when I went by. Someone on the river said its destination must have been the grain facility near De Witt.

I don't know why it was so late getting underway, but I think that they had a change of plans in how far they were going an decided to layup for the night.

I can tell you for sure that it parked at 2am right about here (39.239020, -92.922022). We pulled over with a couple other boats to wait it out only to watch it park while we got passed by about 5 other boats. Better safe than sorry for us first timers in the dark.

We pulled out at Miami and slept rather than wait for the barge. I was dissapointed to find out that it broke down.

Terry I just read this for the first time and it was as if you wrote mine as well. I think we must have been pacing about the same. I met the barge at Lexington and passed Miami just at dusk same as you.
