Hey Charlie, Two rivers race sounds cool.  What is that section of the Blackwater River like?

I don't know, never paddled it. Will recon it before race and get description posted. Understand its as clear as the second half on the Lamine. I picked this course due to its ease of getting to. The end of the race is a stones throw to I-70.

Been a while since I've been on it but seem to remember it similar to lamine, relatively steep muddy banks, but a little narrower.

Paddled the Blackwater River up from the Lamine to the Blackwater ramp and back on Sunday.  Really nice 7 mile stretch.  Rivers are low (Boonville=6.5) and likely much lower than will be in June.  There was one riffle that I portages 1.5 miles downstream from Blackwater.  Aluminum could blast through.  With another 6 inches of water, so could anyone.  Scenic section with nice bluffs, pinnacles, beaver sign, deer, coyote, Bald Eagle, Wood Ducks, a grebe and a bunch of Pileated Woodpeckers.  Great choice for a new race.
