I had an opportunity to try out the new Epic V8 Pro surf ski and was very impressed with speed and stability. It felt like it has speed comparable to the V10 Sport, and stability that bridges the gap between the V8 and V10 Sport. I took it out for a 5k time trial to see what kind of speed I was capable of holding in it. The conditions were less than ideal for a time trial with winds out of the North around 15 mph, but I was still able to maintain a 7 mph pace in the boat over the 5k course, which included five 180 degree turns. All in all the V8 Pro is an awesome surf ski!

I have also paddled this boat in the 5k weekly race... my MPH for the 5k was 7.37 mph avg..  This boat has the speed for the 340 there is no doubt in my mind.  It also has stability.. IF your looking for a surf ski for the 340 this would be an awesome boat... an awesome blend of speed and stability for the second day when its hard to stay up in a boat...
