Jody I was hoping to talk to you and Jane at the finish line however the fella that had to be hospitalized at the end of the race is one half of the 340 team I'm crewing for. We were scrambling trying to get his vehicle shuttled back from Lamine and figuring out what to do next as they told us he may be in the hospital. So we missed all of the post race festivities however thanks to the fine care he received immediately from the kayak community and then the Paramedics he was released to my care at 10:30 pm Saturday night after receiving 4 liters of fluids. He was fine the next morning after a good nights sleep in an AC Motel room and a big breakfast at Perkins. Will look for The Blistered Sisters at the 340.

Hoot, we were just wondering last night how things had turned out for that fellow, good to know he was in good hands and recovered well.   And yep, we'll see you in July!

The Freedom Race roster is up to date (sorry it took me a bit to get it updated).  I am going to order shirts at the end of the week, so if you want to guarantee a nice long sleeve dry tech shirt, please submit your entry asap!

Reminder: We will have free hot meals and cold drinks at the finish, plus complimentary chiropractic care (and massages) available at Jeff City for all racers, crew, and spectators like usual.

All racers receive medals, top 3 in each class get trophies, and top 5 overall receive plaques.

Look forward to seeing everyone there!

Joe, the initial description mentions having to be through the 37 mile Freedom Race checkpoint at 1:30PM. Under rules, it indicates 2:30PM and past race results support that cut-off. Is 2:30 PM the correct time for being through the 37 mile checkpoint? Thanks in advance for your hard work with this and other races.

How many aluminum canoes in Freedom race this year? I'm nervous about the Paddlehawks after their shootout finish. I get the feeling they are pushing hard for the 340 trophy, and came close last year. What's a Murder Barge? Also are we there yet? Anyone else? YuKee Water won't keep Barry waiting too long.

I am concerned about the 1:30 checkpoint cutoff time too.  That would mean paddling 8.2 mph just to get there in time.  I know all you water cowboys and cowgirls can handle that, but we are thinking about the Freedom as a warmup for our FIRST MR340.  In our clunky old plastic Necky (mixed tandem).   Is this one just going to be way too much for us?

Hey guys- I believe that's probably just a typo in section 1.  Section 5 says 2:30 for the cutoff, which I believe to be correct.

Last year I cruised through there around 2:00 and it was totally fine.

Looks like an awesome aluminum line up!! Perhaps a prequel to the OUAD 340? I'll give a new aluminum 340 sticker to the winning aluminum freedom race winner.

I'm impatiently waiting for results to be posted. I want to see how bad we kicked everybody's butt.
Met the Are We There Yet team, great guys and the most comfy boat on the river. That new aluminum Olde 340 sticker should really make it pop.

Hey Joe, thanks for getting the results up, and for everything else you and your family does to make this a great event.

Not to nit-pick but I actually finished in 8:01:57 hours, not 9:01:57 hours (or maybe I took an hour long nap somewhere that I don't recall Wink )

Thanks again for the great time!

Yes, thanks for organizing this race.  Similar observation as Terry's....Chris L. is listed as 3rd in two different divisions:  Men's Solo Unlimited and Kayak.  Paul Behrns was given a medal (3rd I think) and finished approx 7:30 rather than the 8:28 shown.
