SURFSKI 101 - Surfski Basics

(DRYLAND, ON-WATER & COLD WATER CLINIC)

Please join me for a FREE introductory session on Surfski Basics. This will be an informative dryland and on-water session covering surfski specifics, including unique parts of the surfski, entry, exit, remount, wing paddle, stroke technique, cadence and aftermarket modifications to surfskis, etc. It will highlight that not all of the surfskis are tippy which is the consensus of most non-surfski paddlers.

In addition, since the temperatures are starting to drop, we will discuss the various clothing options that work well with surfskis and cold water/cold weather paddling.

LOCATION: Lake Olathe (See attached map)
DATE: Saturday, September 13, 2014
TIME: 10am
COST: FREE (No Entry Fee and No Vehicle or Boat Permits Required)

Bring your current boat (surfski, canoe, kayak, rec boat, etc.) and paddle for dryland and on-water sessions. Don't forget your PFD and cold water paddling clothing and gear.

You will have the opportunity to jump in the Epic V8, V10 Sport, V10, V12, V14 and V10 Double surf skis as well as try an Epic wing paddle. A great opportunity to try out some fun boats if you have never had the chance to paddle a surfski or use a wing paddle.

Please RSVP with Ron at: ronladzinski "at" gmail "dot" com

Wink  Luckily for us the water is still warmer than the air temperature. Smiley That being said, this is a great opportunity to talk about paddling all year vs. just being a fair weather paddler and what you need to plan for when venturing out into the frigid temps.

I'm sorry I missed out on your Surfski clinic.  I enjoyed the paddling at finger lakes last month on the v8 and v10 and will keep an eye on other opportunities to try them out.  Thanks again,

dierik
