Let's keep this race alive!  Last race of the season in the midwest, and a short and fun one!

We have 9 people registered so far.  Not huge numbers, but I've had a lot of questions and interest from others.  Let's keep this thing alive! Sign up today and be part of a fun outing with a cheap entry fee, good swag, and a free hot meal!

41 paddlers and 24 boats...SWEET!

Water level discharge at the Desoto gauge right now is 1330 CFS, down from over 4,000 CFS 4 days ago. Definitely a scraper for composite boats. An Epic V7 rotomold surfski would come in handy for me in this low water!

We are up to 42 paddlers!

Not that I would ever guarantee not scraping something on the Kaw, it is usually always sand...only very rarely is there something else.  Certainly nothing like the Texas Water Safari course.

Huh The ever plummeting Kaw River level is not my fault! It is now down to 1030 at DeSoto  Cry If everybody cries long enough we might be able to fill the Kaw back up?!?

NOTE - Daylight Savings ENDS this weekend so plan accordingly. Race time is at 10am Sunday, luckily the temp will be similar to current 11am temps.

Sunday's Forecast...SUNNY & WINDY with temps Low 40 / High 60 with winds out of the South at 23mph....water temp is 57 degrees...air temp at race time won't be much warmer...with the wind, waves, cold water temps and paddle splash be prepared, paddle safe and dress for success!  Smiley

USGS info at http://waterdata.usgs.gov/ks/nwis/uv?site_no=06892350

Hypothermia guide attached...

Good Luck to all the participants.

Ron

Thanks Ron. It's always good to be prepared in cooler water.

HOWEVER!!!!  Daylight savings time this Sunday means 10:00 will feel like 11:00! Smiley

Sunny and close to 60 with some wind. Should be a great day.

You're welcome Joe. My error on the time/temp...glad it will be on the warmer trend for Sunday vs. Saturday's forecasted temp at 10am of only 36...brrrr! The clear skies will definitely keep things feeling warmer.

See you at the finish with some Epic giveaways!
