c2-built two yrs ago, paddled twice. 18.5 long 3/27 hull, Jensen design. Western red cedar, fiberglass/epoxy skin.
c1 one year old, 18'4" long, 3/27 hull, also red cedar and epoxy. Both have sliding bucket seats, foot braces, bow and stern stem solid wood, great for running into boat ramps. Not sure of weight c2 probable 35#+ and c1 35#- the stern decks on both are solid enough to mount any type of rudder setup. The c1 is a "Landick" style, tucked in the front and flared in the rear for secondary stability. $1000.00 each. Pics follow

Yankee, that C1 is precisely the boat I want or want to build. Where did you get the specs for the build? I really want to build one like it!
Thanks,

Rusty
The c1 is a design originally made by Steve Landick for a marathon race on one of the Great Lakes. I said to him that it looked like the rear part is half of a pro boat and that is what he did. I understand Jack Spencer ran with this idea and developed the Extreme. Anyway I took the front 10' of a Jensen designed J210 and the front half of a Jensen pro boat for the rear and married them. Total length is 18'4" but if I do another I would  make it 19'6" that's , I think the maximum length for a C1 that an individual can handle before putting a rudder on it. After the 340 email me, cnlockwood@charter.net, I have the forms and can get you started on it.

Ron-This summer we'll get together and you can take the C2 for a spin.

Yankee,  I had the same reaction to the C2.  I have long been looking for plans for a cedar strip race canoe.  Would you consider providing the forms (or just offsets) for the C2?

I can make you a set of forms for the C2. It is a P10 (PX) pro boat, considered more stable than the current generation of pro boats. But all this talk about stability and speed is really fine tuning. You will like the feel of this design if you have paddled other models. I can make you a set of forms in cardboard for $35.00 includes shipping. Need to know how you will make bow and stern and I can include instructions.

Hi Mr. Clipper,

Long time lurker on rivermiles, but this post got me to register.

Where is the 3x27 located, and does the $35 form offer extend to anyone that's interested?  I'm pretty new to paddling (only have a 4x32 boat now), but am obsessed with boat building and think I'm ready to dive in with my first project.

I'd be glad to send funds via paypal/money order/etc.

Thanks,
William

How do you want the $35?  I'd love a set of the forms.

Yankeeclipper, I will also send $35 for a set of forms for the c1. I'm really interested in this boat. so much so that if you were up for a little paid instructing i'd like to meet up in the winter when the world slows down a bit and get the finer points figured out. I'm north of Kansas city but Columbia is no big deal fro me to drive and I have a place to stay down there.
thanks, Rusty Coons

I will start getting these forms together along with some instruction, most of which I have in my head. I'll get a list of tools and suppliers also.

Just had to share.

Today I went and visited with Yankeeclipper, and bought his C1.
Top notch guy.  Let me test the boat before hand, chatted about paddling, and was very supportive all around.

My oblivious self, found out that Charlie also makes paddles, and ended up one of them also.

I am usually wary of buying home made items from other people, but not this time.  YankeeClipper's work is excellent, and I would not hesitate to buy anything from him!

Hi Yankee Clipper,

I know that this message chain is quite old but I thought I'd check all the same to see if you are still able to provide plans for the Landick style C1 you had built.  I paddled in the YRQ this summer and am looking to try and upgrade for next year.
