Some pics of new boat I just finished. Western red and white cedar. 18'4" 35#? Took 10'4" from front of j120 and married it to the first 8' of a Jensen pro boat. Sort of a Landick style (he did same) Solid wood stems and decks so rudder can be mounted, sliding seat, 15" bow 10" stern. Will be used at the Fall Five next week, anyone there who wants to try it after race is welcomed to.

Beautiful boat! That is the exact make up I have been dreaming of. I have been thinking about a skin on frame rather than a stripper but the bends are a tough setup for my first attempt.
How does it paddle?

Paddles straight and turns easy. Maybe 1 inch of rocker in it. The bends are tough and I would have a tighter "tuck in" but couldn't get that bend. Maybe steam bending would work but that's hard with 10' pieces. On a frame skin boat I would make the bends by laminating those parts and cut the shape of the bend on a band saw, the rest is a straight shot.

Great looking boat, Charlie!

Impressive wood working skills, too.

Thanks. Tested it out last weekend, Alan Eynk paddled it in the Fall Five. If the USCA allows 3x27 hulls in C1 I'm ready. Smiley
