It was a fun evening on the water and around the fire after the race. Thanks to everyone for participating in these fun training races. Thanks to Ron for bringing the epic demos to the races. And thanks to everyone that joined us last night for our season closer. We plan to start these back up again in early March. I'll have the results posted for last nights race some time tonight.

I heard Mike's paddle splash the whole damn race! Angry Grin

Rod, thanks for putting this whole shebang together plus the great bonfire

Dave, I ate way too much beans and potatoes!

Ron, next year I want to try out the V10--if you can pry it out of Mira's hands!

I am already looking forward to next year. Hopefully 30lbs lighter and Franken-erg trained.

Hey Johnnie, it might be tough getting Mira out of the V10 as it is becoming the boat of choice for her. However, I know she is willing to let others demo it along with the other Epic surfskis in our fleet (V8, V10 Sport, V10, V12, V14 and V10 Double). Good luck with the off water training during the Winter months.

Looking forward to the first HD5K in 2014 which will begin in March. Hope all of the regulars will be able to make it and then some new faces as well!

SYOTW in 2014!!!

Less than 5 weeks until we start the 2014 HD5k's

In case anyone is wondering, the annual boat permit fees for Johnson County are $20 for residents & $30 for non residents. The races are free and occur weekly, so not a bad deal even for non residents.

Ron will also be there with the epic demo fleet, so it's a good opportunity to try out several different surf ski models.

Hope to see you all out there!

One day usage fee is $8 so when you come to just 3 (4 for out of county) races the annual fee pays for itself!

Ha! Yeah, that was last year. The only "winter" paddling I've done this year was down in Florida.

Due to a crummy forecast for Wednesday the 12th, we're changing the first Hump Day race to this coming Monday the 10th. It's supposed to be around 70 on Monday and 30's or 40's Wednesday, so Monday it is. Race starts at 6pm, so try to be on the water by 5:45 to warm up beforehand. See you all on Monday.

Drove by the lake earlier today and it's free of ice, so we're good to go for Monday. I'll also be paddling tomorrow around 2:00.

I just picked mine up at Walmart, but I was told you can also go to Dicks and pick one up at the park office at Shawnee Mission Lake. You'll have to go to the Walmart or Dicks on the Kansas side in Johnson county.
