HD5K race starts at 6pm with free demo afterwards. If you are bringing your own boat a JCPRD boat permit is required.

Chilly race last night with a pesky crosswind, but at least the sun was finally out! Good race last  light! The south wind was a little brisk, but it was nice to finally have temps in the 80’s. Very glad that the severe weather and tornado warnings held off until after the race. Awesome race in perfect conditions last night! We had 28 people race in 20 boats and 7 SUPs with 13 new divisional personal bests and 2 new divisional course records including Ryan Slebos setting a new course record in the Mens Solo Unlimited division double blading the River Hawk OC1 with a time of 24:39 (7.59 mph), Laura 'Mings' Milby and Ryan Milby double blading the Huki V2-X OC2 with a time of 27:14 (6.87 mph), Mark Stevenson in the Epic V10 Surf Ski with a time of 29:26 (6.36 mph), Dan Carter in the Stellar S16R Kayak with a time of 32:08 (5.83 mph), Emily McNeill in the Stellar 18S Surf Ski with a time of 32:25 (5.77 mph), Frank Dreiling setting a new course record in the Mens Solo SUP division with a time of 32:43 (5.72 mph), John Cowan (Nauti Woody) in the CLC Pax 20 Kayak with a time of 33:49 (5.54 mph), Lydia Calnan Bauer in the Epic V7 Surf Ski with a time of 35:05 (5.34 mph), Al Bauer in the Wilderness Focus 155 Kayak with a time of 37:38 (4.97 mph), Kelly Scheidt in the Epic V8 Pro Surf Ski with a time of 37:51 (4.95 mph), Tony Jones in the 14’ Perception kayak with a time of 39:10 (4.78 mph), newcomer Mark Landry setting his baseline personal best on the 14’ Bark SUP with a time of 49:23 (3.79 mph), and Dave Breiner on the 14’ BOTE Traveler SUP with a time of 51:18 (3.65 mph). Good race last night! The cross/head wind was a pain, but some still managed to achieve new personal bests. We had 28 people racing in 18 boats and 7 SUPs with 8 new divisional personal bests including Ryan Slebos & Aleksandar Tasic paddling tandem in the Kayak Center Cobra K2 kayak with a time of 23:25 (7.99 mph), Ron Ladzinski & Doug Robinett setting their baseline personal best together paddling tandem in the Epic V8 Double Surf Ski with a time of 26:34 (7.05 mph), Joshua Sexton & Dan Voss setting their baseline personal best together paddling tandem in the Epic V8 Double Surf Ski with a time of 27:12 (6.88 mph), Dean Newton in the Stellar Kayak with a time of 33:05 (5.66 mph), Kirk Kaiser in the Epic Touring Cruiser 16 Kayak with a time of 35:08 (5.33 mph), Brian Lingle in the Epic V10 Sport Surf Ski with a time of 37:05 (5.05 mph), Jon Nelson on the 14’ Starboard All Star SUP with a time of 42:57 (4.36 mph), and Angie Kelley in the Old Town Heron 9XT Kayak with a time of 50:13 (3.73 mph).
