Don't sweat it

You let a moron get under your skin....don't give them that privilege girl Smiley

Bottom line is predasone is not performance enhancing...End of story.....and a race as long as this requires a mental toughness that no doping can give anyone.......first day is your body.....second day is your head and will power ....and the race is won (for each persons individual goals) on day two

You earn it...everytime....trust me....every dam time...the distance does not get shorter Tongue

Its all good..........ignore the fools....:there are too many of them and life has other things to focus on Wink

I was vaguely aware that completing the 340 was harder for you than most because of your health issues - but now I really appreciate your first place finish.   There were lots that didn’t even finish.  Hang in there --- who ever spoke to you like that doesn’t really understand why we do this stuff.   The joy of competing, finishing and sometimes placing is incomplete without watching others do the same.

Traci, I'm just going to pipe in a bit...

The last 340 was a tough one with the cold weather and conditions.  I'm glad you toughed it out and finished.  You showed your mettle.  For anyone to give you grief about it, because you beat them, is unforgivable.  If it was a male, as it appears, then the act of giving YOU a hard time is something  I don't understand.  I mean, he would give YOU a hard time for beating his *ss?  A man would give a woman a hard time for getting beat?  Really?  Gee, he didn't give ME a hard time for beating his *ss, but would give a woman a hard time?  I don't recall getting accused of steroid use...  but the dude gets beat by a woman, and the dude really can't handle it...and then he is searching for excuses to explain his own inadequate performance.  Wow.

I'm disappointed that you had to deal with such scum.  You earned my respect as a formidable competitor.

And don't get ME wrong.  There is nothing wrong with getting beat by a woman.  That is to say, I don't think men are superior to women paddlers in any way, shape, or form.  I get beaten by women all the time!!

paddle on!

Anyone who makes that type of accusation is obviously too lazy to work out and improve themselves.I will have the nutritional cookies given out at the Gutbuster tested for anything that may give someone an unfair advantage. Might have to restrict everyone to one each. Wink

......... I am not sure what to say to everyone, except "thank you".

I am not exactly sure what kind of response I was expecting, but I was afraid that it was going to be negative.

I am very "touched and appreciative" of everyone's replies. I am feeling over-whelmed by emotion and very grateful........Again "thank you".

However, I was Very Angry when I posted that and now that I have had some sleep and I have calmed down, I dont think that I really want my personal life spread across this forum. ..... For that reason I have removed my post.

I get beat by women all of the time.  The last time I woke up in the ditch with a few knots on my head and a note stapled to my chest that said, "When you've sobered up, don't forget to buy milk at the grocery store."

Seriously, I have no clue what this thread is about.  But, it sounds like someone was a real jerk.  If someone can't handle a woman beating them, they have real issues.  They probably didn't get hugged enough when they were a child.

On the other hand, I got plenty of hugs.  I say congratulations on whooping my butt!  It was a hellava race...

Excedrin Migraine 100 percent gave me an unfair advantage.  It was about 3 am on the third day and I couldn't keep my eyes open because I was so tired.  I almost flipped into the river a few times.  I kept falling behind the group I was paddling with, and at one point I gave up and started to paddle to the shore so that I could take a quick power nap on a sand bar.

Then I remembered that I had a bottle of Excedrin Migraine in my water proof bag.  I pulled it out, popped 3 pills, and 10 minutes later I had caught up to the group.  I felt like my heart was going to explode, but I was wide awake.  I was talking at the speed of light and laughing out of control.  I gave a few pills to the guys in the group and sure enough, we made spectacular progess that night.

Thank you performance enhancing drugs!!!  Thank you, Excedrin Migraine.

If you worry about everyone else- you won't have time to worry about your self. Attend to your own training regimen, and to your own races.

If you find yourself suddenly smack dab in the middle of hell, stopping is not an option.
