AC/DC
Ride On

It's another lonely evening
And another lonely town
But I ain't too young to worry
And I ain't too old to cry
When a woman gets me down
Got another empty bottle
And another empty bed
Ain't too young to admit it
And I'm not too old to lie
I'm just another empty head
That's why I'm lonely
I'm so lonely
But I know what I'm gonna do -
I'm gonna ride on
Ride on
Ride on, standing on the edge of the road
Ride on, thumb in the air
Ride on, one of these days I'm gonna
Ride on, change my evil ways
Till then I'll just keep riding on
Broke another promise
And I broke another heart
But I ain't too young to realize
That I ain't too old to try
Try to get back to the start
And it's another red light nightmare
Another red light street
And I ain't too old to hurry
Cause I ain't too old to die
But I sure am hard to beat
But I'm lonely
Lord I'm lonely
What am I gonna do -
Ride on
Ride on, got myself a one-way ticket
Ride on
Ride on, going the wrong way
Ride on, gonna change my evil ways
Ride on, one of these days
One of these days
Ride on
Ride on
I'm gonna ride on
Ride on, looking for a truck
Ride on
Ride on, keep on riding
Riding on and on and on and on
Gonna have myself a good time
Ohhh yeah
Ride ride ride
One of these days
One of these days...

And I ain't too old to hurry
Cause I ain't too old to die
But I sure am hard to beat
Ride on
AC/DC, Ride On

I have a feeling we could paddle next to each other and enjoy the same music. My MP3 player has practically all 80's music.  I have to have my Quarterflash, Queen, Dio,...............

Only problem I see is "Under Pressure " is by QUEEN and David Bowie. It is not the same without Freddie. I don't care who you put with David.  Cry

A little off-topic, but...  If you want your music to help you maintain a paddling cadence, there are websites that will let you choose songs based on beats per minute.  One such website that I've used for running playlists is jog.fm.  Click on the "ride" link at the bottom right of the graphic (for bikers to enter rotations per minute), and enter your strokes per minute instead.  You'll get a list of songs that roughly match that cadence within a few beats per minute.

David,
I just love the bass rift in Under Pressure.  Theme song in movie "The Girl Next Door".  And "Rescue Me".

All the emotions of the race are in those songs.  Winning.  Losing.  Despair.  Hope.  Determination.  Glory.

Dag nab it John, you figured that one out!!!! Wink

I won't bore you with all the details, but it is funny because my daughter hates that song. "He keeps saying my name".

Maybe tonight I will add to the list. I have been working on mine for a while.

I have some holloween sounds for those early morning foggy rides and some combat machine guns and anchor sounds.  That might be good when we go through, where was it, some checkpoint where someone heard gun shots as a welcoming signal.  This should be fun.

I do try to avoid being critical......but speaking of music.......

Editing the race footage I shot last year.  DJ at race start in 2011 was nothing compared to the appropriate (river and water related tunes) playlist that was played at the 2010 race start.

And no national anthem singer was a shame.

Scott, I am sure this was probably due to the last minute assembling of everything MR340.  Just saying....I for one noticed.  If there was any corners that had to be cut music is one of those.

You need boat songs!  Try Barretts Privateers, the Flowers of Bermuda and The Mary Ellen Carter by Stan Rogers and The Last Saskatchewan Pirate by the Arrogant Worms.

The dip, dip, dip, dip interrupted by the calls of the birds, crickets, frogs ....  simply MAKE the Trip Special!

The lovely lady that usually sings our national anthem at the start had to cancel.  But she'll be back.  We played the national anthem, however, and many paddlers sang along.
