Now I am confused, I thought the men's solo started at 6:00, and that Aquaholics and West are tied for first (time wise).

Tim and I paddled sweep the first 20 miles. The heat was pretty awful getting boats rigged and waiting to start, but a breeze picked up once on the water. It is now breezy and perfect sitting on the boat ramp in Topeka (at 2:00 am). The water is low, and we hit many sandbars and had to dodge the trees in the water. We had to get out and drag the boat several times. There are tons of stars out a the moon rose a little while ago. It is definitely a grueling race. Kudos to all who attempted it!

I've been checking in every hour or two. But this 4:00 am hour is tough even on the couch. Dozed off thinking about racing, instinctively went to splash water in my face and clocked myself in the head with the remote. Oh well it woke me up anyway.
