For those of you following the updates:

Just look for the paperclip attached to my updates.  It will have the most updated information.  If someone is between checkpoints, I won't be able to tell you where they are unless they've dropped out and called me.  If I get any news about any paddler, I try to post it here (funny, good, interesting, etc)  It's best not to send me personal messages or emails because my time during the entire race is either on the phone or inputting times on the computer.  I usually don't have time to answer PM.  If I DO get any, I will answer as soon as possible.  Oftentimes, family, support crew, paddlers etc. get updates quicker than I do.  So, if you don't see your paddler but you know they have cleared a checkpoint, please be patient...it will get updated.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask on here.  I get support from a lot of followers that may be able to get you the answer.

DNR= Did not finish...not necessarily a negative, just a way for me to keep up with each paddler instead of am empty square.

Last, good luck to all!!  When you're paddling, it's as if we are "one"...could be 1st "one", last "one", crazy "one"...doesn't matter.

Funny.  DNR is usually = Do Not Resuscitate....think I'd rather just finish thank you.  Smiley

I know, I know (LOL)...I'm in the Caregiver business working with the elderly and we work with DNR's.  I guess I forgot to leave work behind when I typed that.  Too funny when I saw it later...

Men's Tandem, Porter/Stevenson boat #8088 had to pull out about 10 miles into the race.  It's been told their boat cracked (somewhat due to the heat) when putting it in.  They started anyway (which many great paddlers would have done) but the heat and Kaw just ate it up and they just couldn't keep putting the stress on the crack.

Any updates?  Any word from the river?  How is the heat?  What are the water conditions like?  What is the forcast? Who are the paddlers out front?

It is killing me not being out there.  Cummon someone, fire up your iphone or something.  Light up these interwebs for a longing paddelero.

Hup,

Sweet!  This race should really land in the sweet spot of the aquaholic's paddling strengths (from what I have seen).  Go Go Go Holics!

Anyone know the start times for each of the classes?  Was it a mass start?

Hi.  Does anyone have a picture of the Voyager boat?  My boyfriend is on that boat and I am watching the forum updates from Florida! I'd love to see a pic of the Voyager in action!  Anyone?  Please and thank you!   Cheesy

The plan was to start all boats except men's solo at 5:30 p.m. Solo men were to launch at 6. I'm not there, so I'm unsure whether that's actually what happened, but the times seem about right.

As for the voyageur boat, I obviously have no action shots. But if you google "Big Muddy Adventures" and "Michael Clark," you should find some pictures of it. At least then you'll know what the boat looks like.

PS: I'm also not really on the voyageur boat, as the spreadsheet would indicate. Long story, but I don't want credit where it's not due. My fellow pirates are suffering out there. Godspeed to them.

Arrrrr!

Actually, here's a link to a picture of the boat that Michael Clark posted on the forum:

Thanks!  Will anyone be posting pics from checkpoints or anything?  Is this forum where I should look for pics?

The first checkpoint is closed out.  There are a few holes but no person left behind.  We will get it all squared away soon enough.  No one has made it to Maple Hill yet.  The first wave started at 5:30 and men's tandem started at 6:00.  So do your addition when checking who's leading...
