This post is a test to see what time zone the posts are recorded on, and to see if Rocheport is really in a strange time warp as I suspect.

This will help us in fairly closing the auction when the time comes. Posted at Dec. 12 - 12:39 p.m. Central Time Zone

This post is a test to determine how long it takes to penetrate the "Rocheport time warp"!
Also just to make some bidders edgy.

Ok, we're coming down to the wire on this auction.  Gary Collins is the current high bidder at $1500.00  Anyone can bid above this and take the lead at anytime.  Make your bid at least 1.00 more than the previous bid.

The auction will end on January 1st at 11:59pm Central Time.  That is 24 hours AFTER open registration for the 340 begins.  Whoever has the highest bid, time stamped at or before 11:59:00pm will be the winner.

Remember that this is a charity auction and 100% of funds go to Missouri River Relief and their mission of keeping the river clean.

This is a dang good boat and is a steal at 1500.00.

Boat will be available for pick up in Columbia, MO for winning bidder!

Good luck to everyone.

Thanks for the bump Scott -
Three more clarifications:
1. The BUY IT NOW price has been reduced from $2500 to $2200!!!! Just post your $2200 bid in the thread below and you're done!

2. Auction ends at 11:59 p.m. on January 1st (Central Time), one day after MR340 2011 registration opens. Winner will be determined by the time and date posted on your forum post bid. In other words, if your post says "1/1/11 at 23:59:10", you will be 10 seconds late! (the forum posts in military time). ("23:59:00" is fine)

3. Canoe will be available for pickup in Columbia, MO, to the auction winner. Missouri River Relief will contact winner after auction closes to arrange for pickup.

Purchasing this canoe will help Missouri River Relief in its mission to engage communities cleaning up the Missouri River. 2011 is our 10th anniversary!!!! Help us start out with some river rat cash in the bank!

QUESTION ...does the sucessful bidder get to use the dollar value of the winning bid as the boat number for the MR340, 2011??? ...2200, would look good in reflective tape! Cool

Just curious ...not a bid! Huh Embarrassed

Gary is my tandem partner and it would be great to take the bid at $1500.  I hope someone doesn't lie in the wings waiting for the last minute and try to take the bid at $1501 on January 1.  I say, come on out, show us your intent.  May the best one take the prize.  If we take the bid, we wouldn't be trying for the number 2200.  We have our number chosen, whatever canoe we have.  Tahiti Paddler

Happy Holidays to all and Merry Christmas to me! $1523.40

Now all I have to do is figure out how to get it down the chimney and under the tree!

Vince has the lead with a bid of 1523.40

It's the bid to beat of you want the canoe.  Beat him by a dollar at least OR exercise the "Buy it NOW" option with a bid of 2200.00 and it's yours today.

Great boat, great cause.

Thanks for bidding, Vince!  Good luck.

Woo Hoo! & Merry Christmas!  Thanks so much for such a fun & competitive auction, and of course, for helping Missouri River Relief!  A big thanks to all the bidders, Scott for sharing this wonderful forum & community of paddlers, and to Missouri American Water who donated the canoe to us after last year's race.  May all the good karma bring you guys & gals luck in 2011!   Wink  Melanie.

"Over there, the bank is cut sheer as masonry; and you bump off the shallows back to the swift flowing deeps with a gurgle of laughing waters that is zest of pure joy in the scheme of things.  You begin to understand why Indians regard all rivers as living personalities and make the River Goddess offerings of tobacco with the words "Here Granny, take this!  Now give us fair wind and good luck!"".
